I had a rare opportunity to visit Arizona in April of 2025. I had never been to Arizona, other than a stopover in Phoenix once on the way somewhere else. I had too many cameras along, as usual, and I tried hard to get out to use them as often as possible. Here are some of the pictures I took.
I present the pictures in the order in which I took them. The trip to Arizona went through Oregon, and then California, and then on to Sedona. We spent a few days there, and then went on to the Grand Canyon.
I drove for 4 days each direction. I think my pictures from the road turned out better than the ones from Sedona. The weather was mostly uncooperative (blank skies or total overcast), and I was not able to hike to some of the better locations, except for once. Still, I think I managed to get some interesting pictures.

Sedona Trip April 2025
During the trip, I finally got the opportunity to drive on the iconic Route 66. We stayed in the Route 66 Motel on the way down, and we drove from Kingman to Oatman Arizona on the way back. We stopped for ice cream in Oatman, a town notable for donkeys and brothels. While the brothels had long since closed, the donkeys were stopping cars to beg for food. The town somehow ekes out a tourist economy in the middle of nowhere on a stretch of the road that is at places narrow and treacherous. Since we arrived in April, the summer heat had not yet settled in, but the donkeys still begged the shaded areas.
I hope to add more pictures to the gallery in the near future.
Thanks for looking!
