I am inviting anyone in Portland, Oregon and surrounding towns to have your picture taken in black and white with an old-time large format 8×10″ film camera. I will travel as far as Hood River, or The Dalles if the opportunity seems interesting enough. The portrait is free, and up to 2 companions may join. The only stipulation is that Gary L. Quay Photography owns the copyright, and can use the portrait(s) for promotion, sales, gallery exhibits, and digital distribution on websites and social media. In return, you will get a digital version of the image in full size, and web ready format. Any companions will also receive a digital image. You, and any guests must sign a model release to give Gary L. Quay Photography the right to promote and sell the image.
I just developed the negatives from the first volunteers. One is shown in this post’s featured image. I’m looking for more people to photograph. Contact info is below.
Nobody will be asked to take off their clothing. What I am looking for is interesting people who can look interesting in a black and white portrait. Locations will be selected based on mutual agreement.
I don’t know what kind of response I will get, but I will make every effort to respond timely, and to get the images processed reasonably quickly.
Once I get this up and running, I will add examples here to show potential subjects what to expect.
The featured image was one that I took in 2008 with a soft focus lens.
